Universal Remote Control menggunakan iPhone

Ini dia karya sekelompok mahasiswa di universitas Toronto berupa universal remote control menggunakan iPhone yang mereka sebut UiRemote (Universal Infrared Remote), mereka membuat device kecil berupa Infrared sensor yang dihubungkan dengan headphone jack iPhone yang ternyata dapat transmit dan receive signal infrared melalui jack headphone ini. Untuk iPod Touch sendiri saat ini disebutkan oleh mereka tidak memiliki kemampuan ini.
Yang juga sangat bagus dari design universal remote ini adalah kemampuannya untuk merekam sequence dari remote control yang hendak di gantikan oleh UiRemote ini.

Apakah ini iPhone generasi selanjutnya? Yang issue nya akan dilengkapi dengan 4 Core dan firmware 3.0 yang dikhususkan buat bermain game.
Silakan simak rumor berikut ini :
One of the most interesting rumors I’ve been tracking here at Macworld Expo in San Francisco surrounds the mysterious four-core iPhone. While the current iPhone has (roughly) the processing power of the Sony PSP, an upgraded four core iPhone would slaughter pretty much every portable gaming platform on the market. The other part of the story is firmware 3.0, which is said to be required on the iPhone “quad.”
Imagination Technologies will announce the PowerVR SGX543 at CES tomorrow (TGDaily), it’s the firm’s first multi-core capable GPU technology and Apple could have access to it.
Judging how well games like Brothers In Arms - Hour of Heroes (pictured) and Armageddon Squadron look and play on the current iPhone I think that Nintendo and Sony are probably quite worried about about the next iPhone hardware platform.

What a week it’s been for the 3G unlock! Here’s where we’re at:
Past
- As predicted in our beta release post, expanding yellowsn0w from dev team testing to worldwide usage revealed some unexpected situations.
- Thanks to specific feedback from you on our reporting page, we’ve been able to tweak the method by which yellowsn0w injects the unlocking payload. We believe we’re converging on a method that works for most cases.
Present
- The current beta version of yellowsn0w is 0.9.6, available via Cydia. Please refer to our beta release post for more technical info about how to install and use it.
- Although ultimately the payload is the same as in the very first beta, we’ve changed the way that it’s injected into the baseband.
- Although some of you have invested time and energy in coming up with a very specific flow that works for you, the best way to first try 0.9.6 is as-provided, straight out of the box with no special usage around it.
- Please continue to provide feedback on our reporting page so that we can iron out wrinkles.
Future
- One major feature we have left to provide support for is PIN locking. We have dabbled in this a bit and think we have a solution, but want to make that a separate effort from making yellowsn0w work with as many SIMs as possible.
- At that point, we can probably declare yellowsn0w out of “beta” status.
- The “permanent” unlock is still the ultimate goal for some of us. We’d like to break the chain of trust a bit earlier in the boot process (if only for the fun in trying).

Dev Team memperingatkan kita akan adanya pihak yang mencuri yellowsn0w dan dijual dengan harga yang cukup tinggi.

Seems like “Jody Sanders” of the West Midlands, UK (who we mentioned in our release post) is at it again and is stealing our work and passing it off as his own, he has done this before and this scam was reported by the Guardian and also by us before and was also covered in a very very long thread over at hackint0sh forums.
Please don’t comment in this post about yellowsn0w issues, non Jody related comments will be deleted, if you are having problems with yellowsn0w, please comment here
We specifically restrict the commercial use of our software, and yellowsn0w is included in these restrictions. This dodgy geezer is selling our software to you at a bargain £19.99 he says:-
“We can now fully unlock the iPhone 3G for use on any GSM network for just £19.99 DIY (£49.99 in-store at either London or Birmingham) - just in time for the release of the iPhone 3G PAYG in the UK (available from Carphone Warehouse and o2).”
Jody’s “software” contains our code and also copyrighted code from elsewhere. All you need is free and outlined here . What he is doing just isn’t cool.
If you are in Birmingham or London then if you could find out any information about Jody Sanders at “iph*neunl*ckuk” we’d be very appreciative.
Also if there are any UK based lawyers or student lawyers that could help us with this, then please contact us at blog@iphone-dev.org of course student lawyers can’t give us specific legal advice, but even your informal opinion helps.
Seems like even though Jody claims he doesn’t offer our software, he is offering his “own software” (that is fact just QuickPwn with some edits, also forbidden) and also claims (in relation to yellowsn0w) -
“Please bear with us at the moment - the software is in beta stage and we are trying to get it working for all users.”
The patched QuickPwn isn’t the only warez they sell or offer, they also provide a hacked version of the Apple IOUSBFamily kernel extension.
Some interesting stuff has been uncovered about Jody, some which can’t be posted here, but his limited company “Phone Unlock Limited” is way behind on submitting the company accounts, if anyone would like details of his company it can be read here - 1, 2, 3 and 4
Seems like selling our work has paid off, his current apartment (not the one listed in the companies house records) is up for sale for £190,000 - looks like he is moving onto a bigger and better things. We also need information on his co-worker “Tim Hinton” also of the West Midlands.
There are also other companies who are operating the same scam, but Jody has been warned specifically, so he is first (two wrongs don’t make a right).

Langkah Besar Menuju Bluetooth Unlock

Team iBluetoothProject.tk baru saja merelease aplikasi kecil MobileTerminal untuk mendemonstrasikan perkembangan mereka dalam meng unlock bluetooth iPhone.
Aplikasi ini mereka beri nama “bluesn0w” yang dalam 10 detik dapat meng scan bluetooth device terdekat dan menampilkan MAC address. Tujuan mereka adalah memberikan iPhone layanan bluetooth yang memang seharusnya dimiliki oleh ponsel pintar saat ini.
Detail:
1. Aplikasi ini adalah aplikasi Free dan Open Source.
2. Aplikasi ini akan dikemas dalam GUI yang lebih menarik dan mudah digunakan.
3. Mereka berpikir aplikasi ini akan mewujudkan impian terliar kalian.

Langkah Demi Langkah Unlock 3G dengan yellowsn0w

Sebelum mengikuti langkah-langkah di bawah ini, kalian harus melakukan jailbreak iPhone 3G kalian dan sudah di baseband 02.28.00 (modem firmware). Ini artinya iPhone 3G kalian harus berada di firmware 2.2. Kalau kalian menggunakan PwnageTool untuk update dari 2.1 ke 2.2 maka kalian harus jailbreak ulang menggunakan QuickPwn.
Step 1: Lauch Cydia Installer dari Springboard.
Step 2: Pilih tab Manage di bagian bawah screen.
Step 3: Pilih Sources.
Step 4: Pilih tombol Edit di bagian kanan atas screen.
Step 5: Pilih tombol Add di bagian kiri atas screen.
Step 6: Ketik http://apt9.yellowsn0w.com/ sebagai source url dan tekan tombol Add Source.
Step 7: Setelah source ditambahkan tekan tombol besar Retun to Cydia.
Step 8: Pilih tombol Done di bagian kanan atas screen.
Step 9: Pilih apt9.yellowsn0w.com dari user list.
Step 10: Pilih yellowsnow dari list.
Step 11: Pilih tombol Install di bagian kanan atas screen.
Step 12: Pilih tombol Confirm di bagian kanan atas screen.
Step 13: Setelah instalasi selesai pilih tombol besar Retun to Cydia.
Step 14: Sekarang pilih Home button lalu power off dan power on iPhone kamu. Kamu lakukan ini dengan menahan tombol power selama 3 detik dan geser power slider ke sebelah kanan. Tekan sekali lagi tombol power untuk menghidupkan iPhone kamu.
Step 15: Abrakadabra!!! Sekarang iPhone 3G kamu sudah ter unlock.
