Jajaran MacBook baru Apple

Apple hari ini meluncurkan jajaran MacBook barunya pada acara Apple Special Event, October 2008 yang bukan saja memperlihatkan sebuah bentuk baru, tetapi juga mendefinisikan ulang design itu sendiri, menggunakan process yang benar2 baru dimana keseluruhan body macbook dibuat dengan teknology yang di sebut unibody di buat dari sebongkah aluminium utuh

Harga yang di tawarkan untuk entry level tetap berkisar di angka yang sama, akan tetapi karena teknologi yang di tawarkan jauh lebih menarik, secara value menjadi lebih murah sampai USD 700 menurut Apple.

Yang langsung terasa pada saat melihat jajaran notebook ini adalah design yang lebih melengkung (curve) di sudut2 nya, dan terasa seperti melihat MacBook air yang lebih berotot. Seluruh Apple’s Notebook ini dilengkapi dengan LED-backlit yang di klaim hemat energi sampai 30%, serta dilengkapi dengan trackpad dari gelas yang memberikan user area tracking yang lebih besar lagi sampai 40%.

Kemungkinan harga new MacBook

Dengan semakin dekatnya waktu peluncuran MacBook tanggal 14 October waktu di sono (malam/subuh nanti), maka banyak berita yang beredar mengenai MacBook ini. Salah satunya adalah bocoran berita dari SKU (Stockkeeping Unit) di Best Buy yang bocor ke Gizmodo. Informasi ini juga tidak bisa di kofirmasi lebih lanjut jadi bisa saja palsu.

Tapi yang menarik dari berita ini adalah tidak terlihatnya penurunan harga MacBook seperti yang di sebutkan sebelumnya.

Macbook baru besok?

Sepertinya inikah wujud dari bricks yang akan di reveal oleh Apple besok pada tanggal 14 Oktober?

Seperti yang sudah diberitakan sebelumnya mengenai Apple Bricks yang merupakan proses pembuatan Macbook menggunakan bahan aluminium dengan proses yang berbeda dari yang sebelumnya.

Apple Brick, akhirnya …

Setelah berspekulasi beberapa saat tentang keberadaan Apple Brick, dimulai dari perkiraan ini dan itu, sampai terakhir ke perkiraan sebagai Apple TV baru menggantikan yang lama. (padahal Apple TV baru saja di update ke firmware terbarunya, jadi inget gua belum sempet update).

Ternyata semua hal tadi tidak menjadi kenyataan, karena kabar terakhir menyebutkan bahwa Apple Brick adalah sebuah totally new manufacturing process terhadap Macbook. Kalau selama ini Apple selalu melakukan outsource pembuatan Macbook, iPhone, iPod dll ke manfucture dari Taiwan dan China seperti Foxconn, sekarang ini tidak lagi, karena Apple akan melakukannya sendiri!

Apakah yang sebenarnya terjadi? Karena kita tahu bahwa outsourcing adalah salah satu cara untuk tetap dapat focus, dan Apple sudah melakukan cara yang kelihatannya benar selama ini, di samping itu outsourcing ke Asia seperti Taiwan dan China adalah solusi yang lebih ekonomis. Atau apakah ini adalah obsesi lama dari Steve Jobs yang dulu pernah sampai menyiapkan fasilitas produksi untuk NeXT di California, yang akhirnya tidak jalan, karena NeXT gagal di pasaran.

Dilihat dari kacamata umum, apa yang akan dilakukan Apple adalah sesuatu yang aneh, tapi bukankah selama ini Apple memang dikenal sebagai perusahaan yang mempunyai semangat Berpikir berbeda?

Jadi apa hubungannya dengan Brick? Brick di sini menggambarkan bongkahan aluminium yang di bentuk menggunakan proses Laser dan water jet cutting. Jadi bersiaplah untuk melihat hasilnya, mungkin di Macbook berikutnya?

Apple TV baru?

Akhir-akhir ini cukup ramai di bicarakan mengenai device Apple yang akan datang yang di beri nama kode Brick, dan banyak orang yang menebak-nebak apakah Brick tersebut.

Salah satu sumber informasi yang di dapat dari TUAW menyebutkan kalau benda tersebut kemungkinan adalah pengganti Apple TV, dari mana kesimpulan tersebut? Dari salah satu annymous Apple reseller yang megatakan ini:

We just got an e-mail from an anonymous Apple reseller, stating that they received an e-mail from Apple with instructions to remove all Apple TV displays and literature and to destroy them (which I assume means throw away the literature, send back the Apple TVs) by September 30, 2008 at 5 PM. Additionally, the e-mail says that there will be a webcast “kick off” on September 30
